Beads... My beads for you.

Beads… Have you ever thought what emotions that word causes? For some people I’ve met that word does not mean a thing, they imagine a bunch of threads with different colored beads tied around their necks and arms. Others think about beautiful works made out of small beads of their grandmothers. Many begin to describe ritual beads of American Indians…
For me beads are endless fantasies, unlimited combinations of colors, just like nature itself, it’s a discovery of new and unique forms of works, long hours of planning the designs and, of course, the pleasure of working with the beautiful material – the beads.

Lately I started to realize, that necklaces made out of beads are not just the decoration to the dress, it also could be the decoration with the content, memories, emotions… Necklace and bracelet made of cabochon for the business costume could be “The moon in the clouds” that I and my husband enjoyed resting on the porch one late evening.

Blue necklace “Lunar Path” made of ember for the spring costume is a memory of a time when my son called me from Japan and said “Mom, what a beautiful view of an ocean out my room! The dark blue sky merges with the horizon in the ocean. The light from the huge yellow half moon is reflected in the calm smooth water surface. Lazy small waves quickly run over the sandy coast and slowly slip into the ocean again.” For some reason I see that picture in beads…

That grey set called “Dusty Rain” my emotions after my first year spent in Arizona. Hot dusty summer… in a flash the hurricane brings clouds. Minutes later a wall of rain… The raging streams of water bring stones, branches, small animals… And there and then through the dissipating clouds, beams of sun are reflected in the falling rain droplets. Does this set reflect described picture?

Sometimes one work includes several stories. That’s what happened to “Almost Orchid”. I spent more then a year on that work... First I was taken over by “Ember Necklace” for Natasha from Canada. But I did not have enough patience to weave all of the branches of the fire line. Then I bought a book where I saw the weaving of a tube that was unfamiliar to me called umbrella. Of course I tried with the beads I had. Recently, Tina from Japan sent me some pictures of fine orchids from an exhibition she visited with her daughter.

But only when I read about competition “The Sea, the Sun and the Flowers” in Russia I could see the whole picture and finished it in a month. You can say the whole world helped me to do that necklace. Thanks to everybody for the inspiration!

Works “Fall at its height in Arizona” and “First snow” are about the same season just in the different parts of the World. At the end of November I received a letter from my mother. “It’s really cold today. Rain turned into snow. It’s falling on rusty leaves, melts and that water takes them to the puddles. I think these puddles will be covered with ice in the evening. It’s very gloomy outside, but I’m in the good mood, because I love first snow. It’s so shy, tender and especially clean compare to the old rusty leaves.” After that I made “First Snow”.

I spent a lot of time thinking on “Fall at its height in Arizona”. Fall is very unusual in Phoenix.Late Fall wind spins yellow leaves around coniferous trees. It’s like he is trying to take their noble green color away from them. But rain disarms wind taking leaves to the channel in streams.

The set "At the Ground of Ocean" is my emotions after visiting "Sea World» in San-Diego. Amazingly beautiful shells, the unusual form seaweed have a rest at the grand of Pacific Ocean...

Did you see oasis? Oasis is a place where one's eyes have a rest from the endless sand-hills that are reflected in a small lake (in cabochon). It is a place where you can relax in the shadow of the leaves of the palm-trees and enjoy cool water, contemplating the barchans' solar and shadow sides.

It seems to me that flowers are the finest things that are created by Mother Nature. History tells us that women in all times beautified themselves with flowers. So, I wanted to make a garland of flowers with an unusual mysterious form. It is impossible to duplicate nature! That is why I named my necklace “Almost flowers".

Recently I was in the Arizona Capital Museum. One of expositions had gold and silver dishes from the 1850s. I was amazed by the ornate of form of edges of huge dishes, plates, and glasses. I tried to repeat this style in my "Antique Gold Necklace," so, I could wear it in some solemn moments.

Now it is not fashionable to decorate heads by crowns, but to be queen nevertheless wants it! Here I made "Necklace" in the form of the inverted crown!

Do you remember "Forest after Rain"? It is so beautiful!!I think there are no people who would not like forest after rain. It is sparkling droplets, hang on a spider’s web and on conifers’ branches. It is washed by the lazy the Sun touching trees and bushes with its rays, and, of course, it is birds’ twittering and smell of fresh grass!

I know that you are going to disagree with a lot of my descriptions. But it’s all understandable, because each of us has their own view on the world. That’s why there is a lot of different beautiful bead-works in the books, magazines, and websites. And there is more and more of them every day because there is no limit to the human emotions, fantasies and diligence!!
I want to wish inspiration, understanding and love to everybody!!!
